Samsung Electronics has announced the public launch of the One UI 7 beta program, offering new AI features, simplified controls, and a preview of the future of mobile AI ecosystems. One UI 7 marks a major upgrade, bringing advanced AI agents and multimodal features to every aspect of the interface. This creates an AI-powered platform that makes interactions feel more natural and intuitive. The beta program provides a first look at an enhanced mobile experience that offers greater personalization than ever before.
what is One UI Beta?
One UI is a user interface (UI) developed by Samsung Electronics for its smart devices, including Android devices running Android 9 (Pie) and later. Succeeding Samsung Experience, it is designed to make using larger smartphones easier and be more visually appealing. It was announced at Samsung Developer Conference in 2018,[4] and was unveiled in Galaxy Unpacked in February 2019 alongside the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Fold.
It is also the software layer for their smartwatch Tizen and Wear OS platform, which Samsung co-developed with Google.[5][6] As of 2021, it is also the software layer for the Microsoft Windows platform on Galaxy Book devices.

Enhanced AI for Easier and More Intuitive User Experiences
One UI 7 introduces significant updates to the Galaxy AI features, including advanced writing tools. These AI-driven tools, integrated into the OS, help users increase productivity by allowing them to select text without switching between apps. The new features build on the existing writing tools, offering options to summarize content, check spelling and grammar, and automatically format notes into bullet points.
The updated call features also push the boundaries of communication. One UI 7 adds call transcripts, supporting 20 languages. When call recording is enabled, the system automatically transcribes calls for later reference, allowing users to multitask without the need to take manual notes.
A Bold New Design for More Personalization and Control
Along with powerful AI updates, One UI 7 brings a fresh new design. The updated notification system provides quick access to important updates directly from the lock screen. The Now Bar highlights relevant activities across various features, such as Interpreter, Music, Recording, Stopwatch, and more. By offering quick access to important notifications, Now Bar reduces the need to constantly unlock the device, letting users interact with key information more easily. This feature will be available on future Galaxy S series devices, enhancing the lock screen experience and evolving with smarter features over time.
The updates are backed by a simple yet impactful design. With bold and clear choices, One UI 7 reduces clutter and creates a user-friendly experience, making the device feel more personal and intuitive. The new home screen, redesigned widgets, and updated lock screen offer greater customization options, giving users control over every detail of their device.
A redesigned camera interface makes it easier to control advanced settings. Camera buttons, controls, and modes have been rearranged for quicker access, giving users a better preview of photos and videos. In Pro and Pro video modes, the manual settings layout is simplified for a clearer focus on capturing images or videos. Additionally, a new zoom control allows for smooth transitions when recording videos in Pro mode.
What's Next for One UI 7?
The full release of One UI 7 will begin with upcoming Galaxy S series devices, featuring even more AI capabilities, including enhanced on-device AI functions, starting in the first quarter of 2025. As part of Samsung’s commitment to its OS upgrade policy, the update will gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices.
The One UI 7 beta program is now available for Galaxy S24 series devices in Germany, India, South Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US, starting from December 5. Galaxy S24 users can apply to join the beta program through the official channels.
